Not many know of the exciting and wondrous tales of Roary Yellowmane - the only lion ever to escape the dreaded confines of the Whack-a-Lion realm. Yellowmane is the first ever animal to experience headache after headache, and still break free to tell the tale. Not much is known about Roary's whereabouts, respectively. However, every so often there are documented events which suggest Roary Yellowmane has had his fair share of nail-biting adventures. Here is the story so far..

After months of planning his break out, Roary almost made a mistake on the night of the escape, after tripping over a sleeping giraffe's neck. Luckily, the giraffe in question was known to be a heavy sleeper. Creeping to the place he'd been secretly digging using the propeller from an old spinner hat, Roary moved the debris he used to disguise the exit, and clambered through into the dead of night.

Fleeing into the forests surrounding the entrance to the Whack-a-Lion realm, Roary never once stopped for a break, and did not look back at his old life, putting as much distance between his tail and his comrades still locked away as quickly as possible.

His first night as a free lion was hard. Everything Roary knew about the outside world was now different, and very scary. He didn't know what food was safe to eat, where the best place to sleep would be, and what the best way to communicate with anybody would be. As Roary Yellowmane lay beneath a low branch with lots of leaves for shelter, he thought back to where he'd escaped from. He thought back to how far and how long he'd spent running, and how his legs ached. Before sleep overcame him, he thought about all of the exciting adventures that await him in his new world.
